Succoth 5787 – The Mo’edim (Appointed Times)
The feasts of the Lord, described in Leviticus 23, are God’s appointed times (mo’edim) for His people to gather in His presence. They are not merely Jewish traditions but prophetic markers pointing to Jesus Christ—His first coming, His second coming, and His eternal reign.
The Feasts
Spring Feasts (fulfilled in Christ’s first coming):
Passover (Pesach): Christ our Passover Lamb sacrificed.
Unleavened Bread (Matzah): His sinless body buried.
Firstfruits (Bikkurim): His resurrection.
Pentecost (Shavuot): The giving of the Spirit.
Fall Feasts (pointing to His second coming):
Trumpets (Yom Teruah): The return of the King, the last trumpet.
Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur): National repentance of Israel, fulfilled in Christ our High Priest.
Tabernacles (Sukkot): God dwelling with His people, ultimate joy and restoration.
Sukkot – Feast of Tabernacles
Sukkot, meaning “booths,” recalls Israel’s wilderness journey and dependence on God. It is celebrated with joy, marking the final harvest and symbolizing God’s provision. Prophetically, it points to the Messianic Kingdom when Christ will reign and dwell among His people. Scriptures like John 1:14 (“The Word became flesh and tabernacled among us”) and Revelation 21:3-4 (“Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men”) highlight this truth.
Sukkot carries multiple layers:
Feast of Booths: Temporary dwellings remind us of our earthly fragility and God’s shelter.
Feast of Ingathering: Final harvest, symbolizing nations gathered to God.
Feast of Nations: 70 bulls offered for 70 nations, showing God’s heart for all peoples.
Feast of Living Water and Lights: Jesus declared Himself the source of living water and the light of the world during this feast.
Feast of Joy: The only feast commanded to be joyful, anticipating eternal rejoicing when God dwells with His people.
Prophetic and Eternal Significance
Sukkot foreshadows the end-time ingathering of Israel and the nations, the reign of Christ, and ultimately the new heavens and new earth. The eighth day (Shemini Atzeret) symbolizes new beginnings beyond the millennial reign. It is a feast of hope, rest, joy, and fellowship, reminding believers to live in expectation of Christ’s return.

Repent and rejoice—Jesus is coming soon.
Pray for discernment of times and seasons.
Unite as one new man in Christ, Jew and Gentile together.
Enter God’s rest through faith and obedience.
Prepare as His Bride, living in intimacy and readiness
